Maintenance and Installation Engineer (Telecommunications/IT)

Advantage Resourcing is working with a leading Telecommunications/IT company who excel at delivering cutting-edge technology to enhance communication networks. They are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance and Installation Engineer with expertise in IP, networking, SIP, VOIP, Wireshark, and related applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in configuring radio infrastructure, programming radio hardware, and performing basic hardware repairs.
Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance:
Install and maintain telecommunications equipment, including radio infrastructure, IP devices, networking components, SIP, VOIP, etc.
Installing equipment at client locations across the UK.
Conduct routine inspections, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal performance of installed systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new installations and upgrades.
Configuration and Programming:
Configure and program radio infrastructure to meet specific requirements and standards.
Work with SIP, VOIP, and related applications to ensure seamless communication and connectivity.
Implement and troubleshoot IP-based solutions.
Hardware Repairs:
Perform basic hardware repairs on telecommunications equipment, identifying and resolving faults.
Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and enhance equipment longevity.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct testing and quality assurance procedures on installed systems to guarantee functionality and reliability.
Document and report any issues, providing detailed feedback for continuous improvement.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, network engineers, and technicians, to ensure successful project delivery.
Provide technical support to other teams and assist in problem resolution.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, IT, or related field.
Proven experience in a similar role, with a focus on IP, networking, SIP, VOIP, Wireshark, and related applications.
Strong expertise in configuring and programming radio infrastructure.
Hands-on experience with basic hardware repairs and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with quality assurance procedures and testing methodologies.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Benefits:
Salary expectations: £27k-£34K
Hours: 08:45-17:00 Mon-Thu, 08:45-16:00 Fri.
Holiday: 23 days plus statutory bank holidays
