Job description
What you will do in your working day
You will be based within the logistics centre, working with, and mentored by, the qualified Upholsterer, learning all aspects of the job role. You will support with:
- Providing upholstery support to the wider business and our customers
- Carrying out repairs and refurbishments of chairs and furniture for the NHS and private sectors
- Order and manage material stock and spare parts
- Determine the root cause of failures and implement corrective action
- Ensuring high quality work is always completed
- Ensure timescales and deadlines are met to meet customer needs
- Make sure your work area is clean and tidy
The training you will be getting
- During your apprenticeship programme you will receive training both off and on the job. You will learn the underpinning knowledge that runs alongside your practical elements of the training. You will use a wide range of techniques whilst you complete a practical project.
- WEBS Training aim to build on the skills you already have so you reach your full potential both personally and professionally. Training will be provided in all areas of upholstery to ensure you are capable carrying out your role using traditional and modern techniques and materials to produce aesthetically pleasing and fit for purpose products.
- If you have already achieved GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above or have equivalent qualification you will be exempt from undertaking Functional Skills, however English and Maths support will be provided for all apprentices throughout the length of their programme.
- Level 2 Furniture Manufacturing qualification gained at end of apprenticeship.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
- Further progression to a Level 3 Upholstery apprenticeship
