Job description

We are seeking support workers to join our Newry Bespoke Services Driving licence is an essential criteria

 

What’s the Role:  Support Worker

 

What It Takes:

 

An important part of the staff role is to provide support to our individuals who have complex needs and help them to manage their emotions.

 

So the ability to be resilient, to communicate effectively and to utilise a variety of communication tools is essential.

 

Our dedicated staff team support individuals to learn and develop their independence skills which includes tasks such as shopping, cleaning their flat, personal care, accessing the community, budgeting, taking medication. Each staff member has something to bring to the role and we encourage staff to use their humour and sense of fun and creativity in supporting our individuals with day to day life.

Praxis Care is passionate about wanting to make a difference to the individuals that we support lives and through empowerment, collaborative working and a recovery based approach; we strive towards this goal on a daily basis at Newry. Each individual has their very own individual, person centred support packages in place to best promote skills of independence, both within a supported living environment and within individual’s own homes.

 

We have a positive staff team at Newry who are involved in engaging the people that we support, with both mental health/learning disability needs, to partake in activities both within the scheme and within the local community. We strive to achieve best outcomes on a daily basis ultimately enabling the people we support to live as independent a life as possible.

Salary Details:

 

Support Worker

Full Time, and Relief Contracts available – To be discussed at interview

£21,131 per annum

£10.42 per hour

 

 

 

 

*Salary based on 39 hours per week. Salary dependent on experience.  Where the role requires sleep-ins, a minimum additional payment of £45.00 per night applies*

*Salaries are subject to change from 1st April 2024 in line with national standards*
