Job Description: As a Quality and Governance Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all of our services comply with current CQC regulations, legislation, and best practices. Your primary focus will be on our Nursing, Dementia, and Older People's services, maintaining high clinical standards at all times. You will develop strong relationships with the Director of Care & Support, local management, and clinical teams, providing feedback on performance, recommending improvements, and striving for better quality outcomes. Additionally, you will lead Governance & Quality Assurance meetings, conduct audits, identify areas of risk or non-compliance, and support managers in developing action plans.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all services operate in accordance with current CQC regulations, legislation, and best practices.
- Build effective relationships with the Director of Care & Support, local management, and clinical teams, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with operations to develop and review action plans, highlighting areas for improvement and ensuring regulatory compliance and positive outcomes.
- Lead monthly Governance & Quality Assurance meetings, overseeing processes, and identifying areas of risk or non-compliance.
- Conduct planned and unplanned audits, including mock inspections, using existing systems and processes.
- Share key management information, report progress on action plans, and identify areas of risk or non-compliance for grading services based on CQC regulatory outcomes.
- Review competence of nursing teams, ensuring adherence to the NMC code of conduct and relevant competence levels.
- Provide advice and guidance to clinical teams on matters impacting Outlook Care's services.
- Develop and review policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant information, guidance, and working standards.
- Evaluate auditing and review processes, analyse outcomes and trends, and suggest improvements where needed.
- Analyse operational data to identify trends and present findings.
- Monitor performance in services using Quality & Governance systems, recommending changes or refinements as necessary.
- Share best practices and lessons learned with managers and support staff to enhance service delivery quality.
- Stay updated on changes in legislation and communicate their impact on Outlook Care.
- Provide on-call cover as needed.
Requirements:
- Experience in person-centred care for individuals living with dementia and complex health needs.
- Background in an operational or quality-focused role within a residential or nursing care setting.
- Experience in conducting audits and ensuring issues are addressed and translated into organizational learning.
- Experience in training or coaching staff is desirable but not essential.
- Team player with strong motivation, enthusiasm, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, supporting managers and teams to achieve excellent results.
- Strong planning and organizing skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in IT and data analysis to utilize quality and governance data effectively.
- Nursing qualification with a current pin.
- In-depth knowledge of current CQC regulations and legislative requirements.
- Ability to think independently, challenge existing practices, and collaborate with managers to implement changes aligned with regulations, legal requirements, and best practices.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Possession of a car and the ability to travel independently to services.
