We are delighted to be recruiting for a Production Chemist to support our growing EMEA organisation. The Production Chemist will report into the Division R&D Manager and will be responsible for supporting manufacturing, quality control, research and regulatory activities at the Magnaflux facility, based in Swindon, UK.
Job Description
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Support the evaluation and specification of new or alternate raw materials for new and existing products.
- Manage internal non-conformances; such as finished goods or raw material deficiencies.
- Author and maintain bills of material and manufacturing instructions as required.
- Author and maintain QC testing procedures and equipment calibration methods.
- Provide technical support to company personnel and customers.
- Help resolve customer complaints involving product quality.
- Serve as the technical liaison between the UK facility and the other Magnaflux manufacturing facilities globally.
- Assist with the management of the ERP system (formula entry, etc.).
- Help insure product and facility compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Manage raw material SDSs and PPE requirements for the facility.
- Evaluate competitive products as a means of assessing comparative advantages and disadvantages of the current product line.
- Provide assistance with various chemical production activities not otherwise specified.
- Attend industry and association meetings as assigned.
- Additional duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications
:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or science related field is required.
- 1-3 years production chemist experience is required. Experience in manufacturing environment is beneficial, but not essential.
- Chemical formulation experience is beneficial, but not essential.
- European regulatory experience is beneficial, but not essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- ISO documentation and audit certification.
- Ability to effectively present information to management, customer and other personnel in the company.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish fact and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions on mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
