Job description
My client is a water company that works across the Midlands regions, they currently have an exciting opportunity for a project manager, to join an established team to successfully deliver their engineering projects.
In this role you will assist clients in developing agreed scopes, to cover an identified investment need and manage and prioritise contracts; including overseeing clients, contractors, provider relationships. As part of the role you will develop and implement processes to achieve efficient project delivery to cost, time and quality, whilst apply knowledge of NEC3 contracts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertake benchmarking to judge the effectiveness of current contractual arrangements.
- Prepare and submit project estimates, monitor costs against budget baselines, adhere to financial regulations and forward information to finance as required.
- Scope and cost work for each option and carry out cost benefit analysis as appropriate.
- Review costs and support with the preparation and submission of contract certificates.
- Review tender returns in accordance with internal procurement procedures.
- Monitor and report on contractual KPI’s and manage workload to achieve deadlines.
- Liaise with contractors, clients and stakeholders to project completion and handover.
- Identify milestones and manage project changes as required according to re-priorities.
- Provide project management and engineering expertise, to support the unit and various departments across the business.
- Implement health and safety regulatory requirements including undertake monthly site audits.
- Collate and review method statements and risk assessments, in conjunction with client and contractor and ensure adherence to them in project delivery.
Requirements
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- experience in the management and delivery of projects
- knowledge and implementation of NEC3 Contracts
- a BSc/BEng/MSc/Meng in civil/mechanical/electrical/process engineering
- excellent report writing skills
- knowledge of CDM Regulations
- competency across the Microsoft Office suite, including MS Project
- experience in financial control.
- As Health and Safety is a key business priority, it is essential to be able to demonstrate a commitment to high standards in health and safety management.
- Excellent communication skills are essential and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Ideally you will hold Chartered status and IOSH Managing Safely/APM or PMQ. NEC3 contract management and water utility experience are also desirable, as well as experience of leading and managing people.
