Robert Half are supporting one of our clients to find a new Bookkeeper. This is a crucial part of the finance function where you will be reporting directly into the Senior Accountant on a daily basis as you add real value to the finance function as a whole. The Role

In this Bookkeeper role you will be responsible for (But not limited to):

• Experience of the following would be an advantage - Sage, Xero, Quickbooks, FreeAgent.
• Posting client records to bookkeeping software as above.
• Summarising and analysing expenses.
• Reconciling balance sheet items including bank & cash accounts, VAT ledgers, CIS ledger, sales & purchase ledgers.
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns
• Conversing with clients via email and telephone.
• Managing own VAT job list and meeting deadlines.
• Assisting clients with VAT queries.
• Preparation and posting of opening balances after year end - experience would be an advantage but not necessary.
• Dealing with ad-hoc queries that arise from your main duties.

The Company

Our client is a well-established accountancy practice who are gradually growing and have an amazing teams of accounting professionals who service a variety of clients. This role will be based at the companies head offices which are based near the Ashford (Surrey) area.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced and proven Bookkeeper who is now looking to step into a position where they are able to effectively utilise their skill-set and add value to this business. This candidate will require minimal training and/or support, possesses previous accountancy practice experience, and will be able to hit the ground running from day one.

Salary & Benefits

This Bookkeeper role will be offering up to £35,000 per annum, as well as holiday, pension and further company benefits
