Job description

As the Lead Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the R&D testing team, ensuring the successful development, testing, and validation of new Gas Seal products aligned with our business goals.

Your leadership will be instrumental in coordinating resources, maintaining project schedules, and fostering a culture of safety and innovation within the team.

This role is a Monday to Friday work schedule in our centre of excellence in Slough.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Developing, testing, and validating new Gas Seal products as part of the Product Dev team, in accordance with business goals
• Coordinate the technician resources team to meet the bi-weekly goals
• Run short daily meeting to ensure the goals are being met and workload is evenly distributed
• Keep the project management software up to date with the current task status
• Requirement to attend update and planning meetings with project managers
• Work with the R&D testing manager to provide realistic testing delivery plans
• Carryout routine checks to ensure the team is working in a safe manner
• Lead dynamic risk assessments when they are required
• Work with the team to ensure the areas are kept in a clean and tidy state
• Perform checks on seal build and test documentation
• Help reinforce quality by checking in use equipment is within calibration
• Help lead the creation and implementation of new work processes

• Strong leadership skills with a team-player approach to management.
• Have a technical understanding of all R&D testing projects.
• Be able to help solve complex problems that arise during the testing of new products.
• Have a detailed understanding of processes carried out within the R&D testing team.
• Proficient in writing procedure documents.
• Moderate understanding of how the testing equipment works.
• Ability to facilitate team learning and development through training initiatives.
• Have the ability to identify inefficiencies in processes and come up with solutions to improve them.
