Full Time, Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2025 About Brighter Futures for Children Brighter Futures for Children is a not-for-profit company, owned by, but independent of, Reading Borough Council. Although we are independent, we are very much part of the Reading Family. We are responsible for the delivery of children’s social care, early help & prevention, education services (including SEND). This also includes fostering and adoption, the Youth Offending Service and traded services with schools. Our main aim is to protect and enhance the lives of the children of Reading. We help families find long-term solutions to ensure children lead happy, healthy and successful lives. The Role & Team Along with our partners, we believe early help is a collaborative approach and response, not a single provision. We know that early help, at the right time, in the right place improves outcomes for children and young people. The Partnership Team Assistant Team Manager (ATM) will lead and manage a small team of Partnership Outreach Workers that offer support, advice and guidance to a range of partners across the children, young people and adult workforce to develop their skills and confidence on delivering on their responsibilities to offer effective early help support to children, young people and their families. We’re looking for someone who can drive an agenda to enable partners to help families as soon as difficulties arise. You will also support the administration, co-ordination and planning for the One Reading Children and Young People’s partnership board. You will have a qualification in Childcare, Education, Health, Youth Work, Social Work, Community Development or equivalent professional qualification related to work with children, young people and/or families. You will be able to demonstrate your experience of working in a multi-agency environment to improve outcomes for families. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the team, including providing supervision to ensure high standards of support and evaluation of impact. You will also be responsible for the weekly delivery of multidisciplinary hub meetings, and you be able to maintain and continue to develop positive working relationships with the front door for early help and safeguarding and the family help teams who deliver targeted support and intervention to families who require this support. You will need to be proactive and lead the team to identify potential barriers and solutions with internal and external stakeholders whilst driving through change in a sensitive but tenacious manner. The post is open (internally) to a secondment opportunity with line managers agreement. The post is also open to consideration of part time hours.
