Job description


We are extremely pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse who would like to pursue a career in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. The successful applicant will be supported in their development through formal teaching, experiential learning and supervision thus allowing them to apply for progression opportunities within the service.

The successful applicant will join the Hounslow CAMHS Neuro-developmental Team which is based at Heart of Hounslow Centre for Health, 92 Bath Rd, Hounslow, TW3 3EL.

The Neuro-Developmental is part of the Hounslow Specialist CAMH Service, which also includes an adolescent team, learning disability team and child and family team. The Service also links to a comprehensive Community CAMH Service, CAMHS Crisis Prevention/Care Team (ALLIANCE) and a CAMHS Eating Disorder Service. The post holder will be part of a growing team of clinicians with a special interest and expertise in working with children, and young people, who are presenting with complex mental health needs.

The CAMH Nurse will join the multidisciplinary team in the delivery of clinical assessment and provision of therapy to young people (0-18) and their families and/or carers within the Hounslow CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Team. With appropriate and robust supervision and support they will provide assessment and intervention, which will include individual and group therapy to patients presenting with neurodevelopmental conditions and mental health comorbidities.

The CAMH Nurse will also join a thriving team of supportive, committed and skilled nurses who are dedicated to changing the future outcomes for children and young people who present to mental health services.

As a CAMH Nurse you will have the opportunity to contribute to service development, audit, research and quality improvement projects and service user involvement
