Job description
The Physical Activity, Wellbeing and Public Health Research Group are looking to recruit a Researcher who is passionate about conducting highly applied and impactful research with children and young people living with excess weight. The post holder will conduct mixed methods research, working closely with external stakeholders, on a large project funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) to evaluate the NHS Complications of Excess Weight Clinics.
The role will work using design research tools, undertake interviews with children and young people and analyse data, conduct literature reviews and write reports for a variety of different audiences. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with experienced researchers in multidisciplinary teams from across SHU and beyond including: colleagues from the Physical Activity, Wellbeing and Public Health Research Group (PAWPH) and the Obesity Institute at Leeds Beckett University. They will be co-located within the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre and support the work of the Healthy and Active 100 theme. These links will provide a foundation for multidisciplinary and cross organisational working. The team The Physical Activity, Wellbeing and Public Health Research Group sits within the Academy of Sport and Physical Activity Research based in the College of Health Wellbeing and Life Sciences at Sheffield Hallam University. The role will be based at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre, part of Sheffield Hallam University's Health Innovation Campus at The Olympic Legacy Park. £30.49k - £37.1k per annum
