Mongo DB Specialist
Location: remote
Contract Length: 9 months
Pay: up to £445 per day via umbrella (inside IR35)
As a MongoDB OpsManager SME, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing MongoDB deployments using OpsManager. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, performance, and security of MongoDB clusters. Your expertise will contribute to the success of our mission-critical applications.
Note: Candidates who have worked closely with MongoDB in designing and building the roadmap, especially in the context of MongoDB as an OEM provider, are highly desirable.
Deployment and Configuration: - Deploy and configure MongoDB clusters using OpsManager.
- Optimize database performance, including indexing, sharding, and query tuning.
- Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
- Monitor MongoDB performance metrics using OpsManager.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, replication issues, and other database-related problems.
- Respond to alerts and incidents promptly.
Security and Compliance:
- Ensure MongoDB security best practices are followed.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement access controls, encryption, and authentication.
- Stay updated on security vulnerabilities and apply patches as needed.
Automation and Scripting:
- Develop automation scripts for routine tasks using OpsManager Automation.
- Automate deployment, scaling, and maintenance processes.
- Script custom monitoring checks and alerts.
- Capacity Planning and Scaling:
- Analyze database growth trends and plan for capacity expansion.
- Scale MongoDB clusters horizontally or vertically based on workload requirements.
- Evaluate hardware and cloud infrastructure for optimal performance.
Documentation and Training:
- Create and maintain technical documentation related to MongoDB OpsManager
- Train other team members on best practices, troubleshooting, and OpsManager usage
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with MongoDB OpsManager.
- Proficiency in MongoDB administration, performance tuning, and troubleshootinFamiliarity with MongoDB Atlas is a plus.
- Candidates who have worked closely with MongoDB in designing and building the roadmap, especially in the context of MongoDB as an OEM provider, are highly desirable.
Skills:
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar) for automation.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and shell commands.
- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
