Analytical Laboratory Technician

Job description
We are seeking an Analytical Technician to join our dynamic team at our Berkshire-based commercial laboratory on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for the testing and evaluation of antigens, antibodies, and other raw materials, as well as the assessment of in-process materials both in ELISA and PCR.
The Role
Raw material evaluation, including antigens, antibodies and sera
Testing in process materials, including plates, conjugates, buffers, and controls
Raw materials, in-process, and final testing
Manufacture, dispensing, and labelling of kit components
- Department calibrations and equipment maintenance
- Data interpretation and presentation of results
- Working to GMP and GLP standards
- Performing manufacturing tasks assigned by the management team
- Awareness of health and safety procedures and standards
- Support the manufacturing team
- Calibration and workplace maintenance of all relevant laboratory equipment
Experience Required
- Scientific based degree desirable or appropriate industrial experience
- Experience working in a laboratory-based environment is desirable
- Understanding of good manufacturing practices (GMP) and good laboratory practises (GLP) are beneficial
- Technical understanding of ELISA and its applications are desirable
- Data handling and interpretation skills
- Excel and Microsoft Office experience
- Attention to detail and pride in work
- Work proactively both individually and in a team environment
- Good organisation skills
- Ability to follow procedures
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Good communication skills
- IT literate and able to carry out basic tasks on a computer
- Flexible
- Adaptable
- Understanding of ELISA and PCR processes
