Trainer
Purpose of the role:
- To deliver a variety of training programmes across the business, appropriate for job roles and aligned with company objectives.
- To deliver a first-class induction programme and onboarding experience to new colleagues.
- To coordinate the company training programme, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
- To successfully embed the Learning Management System (LMS) across the workforce, achieving full user engagement.
- To ensure a robust process and system for maintaining compliant and quality training records.
- To partner with the business to provide key training data.
- To improve colleagues’ skills and knowledge and help them reach their potential.
- To improve the colleague experience and improve retention.
- To improve performance and reduce Health & Safety risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be our dedicated in-house trainer, delivering engaging and inspiring in-house training.
- Deliver a first-class induction programme to all new colleagues.
- Work closely with the Recruitment Lead, and People Services team to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new colleagues.
- Ability to train managers to deliver training where appropriate (train the trainer).
- Maintain and develop appropriate training resources.
- Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of in-house training.
- Role model the values and behaviours of the company.
- Be the system lead for the Learning Management System (LMS) maintaining compliance and quality of training records.
- Provide training and support to all stakeholders and colleagues on the LMS.
- Promote the LMS and encourage self-guided learning.
- Familiarity with talent management and career paths.
- Coordinate the complete company training programme ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, liaising with external training providers and third parties.
- Liaise with managers to ensure colleagues are available and then released for training courses without causing any disruption to the operation or safety.
- Develop strong relationships with managers to improve training completion and compliance.
- Ensure managers have access to immediate reports concerning training completion and compliance.
- Work collaboratively with our Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) team.
- Ensure learning environments are positive and inclusive for all.
- Support the Organisational Development Lead with colleague wellbeing and engagement projects and initiatives.
- Work with the people team to improve the colleague experience.
Essential Requirements for the Role:
- Previous experience as a Training Facilitator, Training Coordinator or similar role.
- Training qualification, e.g., Certificate in education and training.
- Train the trainer accreditation.
- Significant experience of delivering high quality training and cost-effective programmes to a variety of audiences, on time, on budget, with an understanding of different learning models and delivery techniques.
- Willingness to keep abreast of new training/learning techniques.
- Experience of delivering training in a virtual environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation and public speaking skills.
- Excellent group facilitation skills and able to engage groups in meaningful discussions.
- Excellent technical skills, proficient in MS Office, particularly Powerpoint.
- Demonstrable experience utilising e-learning software and a learning management system.
- Positive attitude and ability to engage and motivate others.
- Ability to work collaboratively to build successful and strong working relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Knowledge and understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion best practice.
- Good working knowledge of GDPR regulations
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Forward-thinking and pro-active.
- Full UK Driving license.
