Got a flair of the complex? Buro Happold's UK Water team is looking for a Hydraulic Modeller  to join our vibrant and friendly team in Bath or London (with Hybrid woking). If you are a specialist hydraulic modeller with the skills and passion for sustainable Flood Risk Management this role is for you.

In the past two years the Buro Happold Water Group has worked on more than 150 different projects, in the UK, North America, Africa, Europe and the Middle East.  Our recent projects have included Battersea Power Station Redevelopment, the new Everton FC Stadium, Folkestone Harbour Redevelopment, the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Wadi Hanifah in Saudi Arabia and Verdugo Wash in the USA. 

Your next role

The successful applicant will demonstrate a passion for computational hydraulic modelling skills and sustainable Flood Risk Management. 

Key Duties:

• Help support the group’s hydraulic modelling capability;
• Work on a range of domestic and international engineering projects, from a building scale to regional analysis;
• Interpreting modelling results;
• Problem solving to develop practical engineering solutions; and
• Coordinating work with other members of the project team both internally and externally.

Skills & Experience:

• A passion for computational hydraulic modelling;
• Experience of modelling complex fluvial analysis;
• Experience or a desire to develop flood risk mitigation measures;
• Range of hydraulic software packages (TUFLOW is preferred);
• GIS knowledge (QGIS);
• Ability to communicate technical subjects;
• Proactive character, who enjoys working in a team, with a desire to learn; and
• Good computer and IT skills.  Use of Microsoft Office software essential.
