Job Description
A brilliant opportunity has arisen within the Families Together Hub (FTH) based at Albert Road, Ilford for an enthusiastic and ambitious Principal Family Support Worker to join our team.
FTH offers a whole family approach beyond support for children, promoting strong resilience and independence for adults as well.
Work is undertaken with families before the point of the threshold being met for statutory child protection by improving the early identification of need and timely early responses from coordinated services.
The Common Assessment Framework remains the principal way of accessing early help support.
FTH seeks to address the core issues affecting families systemically such as problem debts, parental conflict, drugs and alcohol abuse, with a strong focus on worklessness and homelessness.
Family Support Workers identify the risks facing children and their families, using a Think Family/Think Couple approach and provide support with interventions, referrals, ensuring the family receive the right support at the right time, aimed at building resilience and sustainable improvement.
Responsibilities
- Managing up to 6 family support workers that case hold families referred into the service and deliver one to one whole family support.
- Direct supervision, case allocation, care planning and quality assurance.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and an understanding of all aspects of managing staff within the service.
- Adapt and understand the whole service need.
Requirements
- A dogged but empathic approach to referred families.
- Experience in managing staff within a non-statutory service.
- An ability to adapt and understand the whole service need.
- Training and development support will be provided as part of the role.
