Level 3 Experienced Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

Are you a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with additional needs?

Position: Level 3 Experienced Teaching Assistant

Start Date: April 2024

Contract: Temporary, Full-Time

Working Hours: 8.45am - 3.15pm, Monday - Friday

Location: Blackburn Primary School

About the Role:

We are seeking a Level 3 Experienced Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a pupil in Reception with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The successful candidate will work closely with the pupil, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. There are no personal care or behaviour needs associated with the role, however, experience of supporting pupils with communication difficulties is required.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide personalised 1:1 support to the pupil with ASD.

- Develop and implement tailored strategies to meet the pupil's individual needs.

- Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for the pupil.

- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure consistent support.

- Implement behaviour management techniques to promote positive behaviour and engagement.

- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to the teacher and SENCO.

- Support the pupil with their academic, social, and emotional development.

- Adapt and differentiate learning materials to suit the pupil's abilities.

Requirements:

- Minimum Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.

- Resilient and patient approach to handling challenging situations.

- A strong track record of successfully implementing behaviour management techniques.

- Ability to build strong rapport with pupils, parents, and staff.

- Excellent communication and organisational skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
