Job description
What you will do in your working day
- Produce civil and structural construction drawings, details and calculations as per the project requirements
- Learn to use specific software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Masterseries, TEDDs, etc. to carry out your role
- Deliver the best value design solutions with the support of the engineering and design team
- Support the design lead and project teams in all aspects of design work
- Learn to undertake the technical review process and identify potential issues and solutions
- Communicate and build relationships with operational and project teams
- Understand the cost of projects and play your part in managing the design costs
- Understand the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015), building regulations and legislation to ensure the design of a project meets legal compliance
The training you will be getting
Construction Design and Build Technician Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard:
- You will train at one of the top performing colleges or training providers in the country
- Block release at college
- You will regularly attend in house training and development as part of the programme
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
- Once qualified there is the potential of a permanent position within the company. If you successful gain a permanent position there are many opportunities to advance your career
