Job description


We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual, to join our friendly team as a Clerical Officer, in the Children’s Therapy Department at Springhill House, Scarborough Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The post holder will provide support to the Children's Therapy Team, by contributing to an efficient and effective service within a very busy environment, working within strict departmental procedures, with responsibility for receiving, maintaining and providing manual and electronic data containing sensitive and confidential information. The role will involve making appointments, the up keep of our electronic records on System One, inputting of therapy referrals and general office duties along with telephone calls, and the meeting and greeting of patients which may include reception duties

You will need to have excellent communication skills, and be effective in prioritising workloads, with a flexible and patient centred approach.

The role requires the candidate to be able to work on a Tuesday, and the hours to be spread flexibly over 4 days.

The responsibilities of the role include:
• Providing support to the Children's Therapy Team by handling general enquiries, whether they come in via correspondence, phone calls, email, or in-person.
• Adhering to established departmental procedures while managing various tasks, including receiving, organising, and maintaining electronic data, which may contain sensitive and confidential information.
• Scheduling patient appointments and ensuring accurate record-keeping using SystmOne.
• Demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and colleagues.
• Working both independently, using initiative when needed, and collaboratively as part of the broader Children's administration team
