Job description
Reporting to the Group HSE Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Health and Safety agenda.

Role:
- Maintaining health and safety reporting procedures
- Helping action ideas for continuous improvement across health & safety
- Working with employees to implement effective visual management
- Support to administer various H&S programmes
- Fostering a H&S culture and bring people on board with a “safety first” approach
- Assist with delivering H&S inductions to the new starters
- Take ownership of the management of our Occupational Health Service (external provider)
- Ensure all training records relating to H&S are kept up to date and refresher courses booked in a timely manner to ensure that none expire (Truck, First Aid and Fire).
- Support with arranging training programmes for job related H&S matters
- Ensure any briefings following any incidents and shared
- Support the Group HSE Manager with Incident management: register of incidents, RIDDOR, root cause analysis, investigations, corrective and preventative actions, metrics and improvement plans
- Ensuring contractor database is kept up to date with RAMS insurance, training records / certificates and inductions (including risk assessments for area(s) being worked in and emergency procedures)
- Ensure H&S inspections and audits are carried out in line with the planned schedules
- Ensure risk assessments are securely stored, kept up to date and reviewed within the suggested time frames
- Check stock of PPE and order additional as required ensuring all employees have access to the relevant PPE to carry out their roles.
- Manage all DSE assessments on site
- Be part of the H&S improvement teams across site
- Communicating H&S information to the workforce using dashboards, newsletters, bulletins
- Carrying out regular site tours to provide visible H&S awareness within the company and escalating any breaches of H&S that are found
Key attributes and skills:
We are looking for a driven and experienced Health and Safety Co-Ordinator who has manufacturing expertise, NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety would be advantageous. A strong degree of competence in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel.
