Job description

The Permanent Division of Robert Half is currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant on behalf of a company in Bedford.

The Role
To work within the finance team, across the Management Accounts, Financial Accounts and AP/AR teams to provide timely and accurate data, journals and reconciliations in order to aid in the smooth and accurate running. Study support can be provided


The day to day duties of the Finance Assistant will consist of:

Financial accounts and cash management

• Weekly updates of the cashflow documents for actual performance and forecast revenues
• Close working with the Financial Accountant to set up annual cashflow documents
• Bank reconciliations
• Monthly reconciliation of the inter-company trading accounts
• Support in the preparation of the Annual Financial Statements
• Support in the year end audit process
• Maintain fixed asset register including monthly posting of depreciation

Management accounts support

• Month end accounting and analysis for plant costs
• Month end accounting and analysis for insurance
• Creating and posting monthly purchase order accruals
• Managing the stock process with the Management Accountant
• MSA accruals
• Credit card accruals
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Other month end support as required by management accountant

Other finance/AP/AR support

• Weekly OEE Report
• Compleat administrator
• ONS Surveys
• Other adhoc tasks as required

Your Profile

• Strong IT skills including accounting software and MS Office, Excel knowledge is also a strong advantage. Be confident in using and switching between different software programs.
• Excellent communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone
• Organised and methodical, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Initiative and self-sufficiency, but not afraid to ask for help when needed
• Flexibility and willingness to support all members of the team with any task that is required
• Ambition and drive to develop the role
• AAT/CIMA/ACCA studier

Salary and Benefits
The Salary for the role of a Finance Assistant will be paying up to £28k based on experience and skill sets. Study support can be provided. Hybrid working with two days at home
