Serco Skills and Training Services (STS) was formed in October 2023 to provide high quality government funded and commercial training solutions, and services to government departments, authorities, employers, and citizens.

Serco Skills and Training Services (STS) provide vocational training to external customers and learners, funded through the apprenticeship levy or commercially.
The primary responsibilities will be to guide and support learners through every stage of their apprenticeship. In particular, the role holder will coach apprentices in the skills and behaviours required for school-based apprenticeships up to level 6, via a blended learning approach which includes face to face and online engagement with apprentices.

Key Accountabilities

- Complete Progress Reviews with the learners and employer, ensuring compliance with relevant funding rules
- Review work produced by learners to ensure it meets the relevant apprenticeship standard
- Ensure that learner records on the learner management system and portfolio are up to date and all relevant documents are stored securely on these systems.
- Support learners to ensure evidence of learning is captured monthly and uploaded to the portfolio to ensure the learner maintains progression in line with time on programme.
- Ensure learners are fully prepared for End Point Assessment of their apprenticeship standard
- Support Serco STS Quality team by providing information necessary for operations. Review performance of learners against targets and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Contribute to the effective implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) and participate in the self-assessment process
- Undertake professional development and training to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the apprenticeships delivered within Serco STS and to maintain relevant professional knowledge

What you need to do the role?

- Have relevant and recent experience of working in leadership and management in an educational organisational setting and a qualification, at a minimum of level 5 in School Business Management.
- Level 3 Coaching qualification (preferable) and or willingness to complete
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of coaching techniques to motivate learners who may be disengaged
- Excellent planning and organisational skills to ensure visits and reviews are conducted within required timescales
- Support a culture of learning and excellence that will promote Serco’s values
- Support the leadership team in the implementation of innovation and change to ensure Serco deliver a high quality, efficient and profitable contract
- Establish and maintain good communications and strong professional links with all personnel involved in programme delivery and management
- Demonstrates effective team skills and qualities through working with colleagues to continually improve and enhance working processes and procedures for the achievement of contract KPIs and delivery of the contract.
