Children Residential Support Worker
Location: Durham, United Kingdom

We are currently recruiting for a reputable organisation committed to providing high-quality care and support to children in need. Our residential care facility in Durham is dedicated to creating a nurturing and safe environment for children who require additional support. Looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Children Residential Support Workers.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide Emotional Support:
- Build trusting relationships with children and create a safe and supportive environment.
- Offer emotional support to children facing challenges and help them develop coping mechanisms.
Daily Care and Activities:
- Assist in the day-to-day care activities, including meal preparation, bedtime routines, and hygiene.
- Plan and engage children in age-appropriate recreational and educational activities.
Behaviour Management:
- Implement behaviour management strategies to address challenging behaviours.
- Work collaboratively with the team to create and maintain a positive living environment.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of each child's progress and daily activities.
- Communicate effectively with team members through written reports and verbal updates.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers and therapists, to ensure holistic care for each child.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to the development and review of care plans.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- DBS on update service
- Previous experience in a similar role within a residential setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and behaviour management techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
