Children Residential Support Worker

Location: Durham, United Kingdom

Are you passionate about supporting children grow and developed into independent young adults?

We are currently recruiting for a reputable organisation committed to providing high-quality care and support to children in need. Our residential care facility in Durham is dedicated to creating a nurturing and safe environment for children who require additional support. Looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Children Residential Support Workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide Emotional Support:

    • Build trusting relationships with children and create a safe and supportive environment.
    • Offer emotional support to children facing challenges and help them develop coping mechanisms.
  2. Daily Care and Activities:

    • Assist in the day-to-day care activities, including meal preparation, bedtime routines, and hygiene.
    • Plan and engage children in age-appropriate recreational and educational activities.
  3. Behaviour Management:

    • Implement behaviour management strategies to address challenging behaviours.
    • Work collaboratively with the team to create and maintain a positive living environment.
  4. Record Keeping:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of each child's progress and daily activities.
    • Communicate effectively with team members through written reports and verbal updates.
  5. Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers and therapists, to ensure holistic care for each child.
    • Attend team meetings and contribute to the development and review of care plans.
