We have a vacancy for a ShiftManager at our Rawcliffe Bridge site in East Yorkshire. The main purpose of therole is the day-to-day management of a production team. Being the most seniorperson on site, you will be responsible for all site operations out of officehours.
Reporting to the OperationsManager, the Shift Manager 5-crew team is responsible for all operationalactivities on site, outside normal working hours. Ensuring that health, safety,quality and environmental procedures are followed, and standards are met whenoperating plant equipment.
In this role you will be taskedwith identifying the causes and corrective actions for any deviation from standardoperations, completing out of hours risk assessments and change managementprocesses to ensure continued safe operation of assets.
As Shift Manager you should behighly visible, encouraging safe behaviour, setting high standards and nottolerating substandard work.
Other responsibilities willinclude ensuring quality reporting within the team, including incidentinvestigation and that improvements are implemented to resolve issuesidentified.
This role is required to be partof the emergency team acting as the Emergency Controller, coordinating theresponse on site in most scenarios.
Although this role isnot operating any specific plant, the Shift Managers maintain overallresponsibility of the operation of the utilities and effluent treatment plants.

• You will have excellent communication skills, capable of building effective working relationships and leading the shift team
  
  
• Good planning and organisation skills are required, as is the need to be adaptable to changing business requirements
  
  
• Aptitude in developing, training and coaching team members
  
  
• You will be a proactive, problem solver with a keen eye for detail and able to utilise processes for generating safe working actions
  
  
• Experience of dealing with emergency situations and prepared to be part of the site emergency team acting in a leadership capacity
  
  
• You will have gained previous industrial and management experience in a similar environment
  
  
• Proficient IT user,Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook experience desirable
• NEBOSH certification
  
  
• You will be educated to HNC or degree level in ascientific discipline
