End of Contract Damage Assessor

Birmingham Office - Hybrid

About the role

In this role, you will manage and assess quality and 'unfair wear and tear' appraisals on vehicles returned to us at the end of their contract. When the vehicle comes off contract, an external supplier will collect the vehicle and provide an inspection for damage. You'll then carry out an assessment on a computer viewing photographic and written reports to decide if a vehicle has returned with reasonable wear and tear, or not, to ensure Arval are working to BVRLA standards. You will then notify the customer of your findings.

In addition, you'll review and authorise Rental Fleet End of Contract Estimates and manage the downtime of those vehicles whilst they're undergoing the refurbishment process. You'll develop both internal and external relationships, particularly with suppliers, to ensure that business objectives are achieved. You'll also have the confidence to make recommendations for any process improvements, where you have identified the opportunity to improve our offering.

About you

We are looking for someone from the motor industry, ideally with experience gained in a body shop environment or experience working in the rental trade. You will have the ability to assess damage reports and data, with the ability to make a decision as to whether any damage is fair or not. Ideally, you will have experience with BVRLA guidelines and the knowledge to back up your decisions. By nature, you will be thorough and methodical in your approach to work.

Key skills and attributes you'll need to be successful in this role:

· Have good written and verbal communication skills.

· You will have a helpful and adaptable approach

· Be able to manage a high volume workload on an on-going basis.

· Whilst maintaining databases and records

· With a keen eye for detail and integrity/reliability.

· Willingness to learn & expand knowledge

· Takes pride their work and delivering a solution
