Production Manager- Larne
This key role is part of the facility leadership team and is a newly created position due to a consistent business growth. In this new and exciting role as the Production Manager, you will be a key stakeholder in the Production and Manufacturing teams.
General Duties
- Directing daily Operations, ensuring production is delivered on-time and executed to full compliance within global regulatory requirements and in accordance with cGMP/cGCP and relevant licences.
- Ensures operational efficiency improvement targets are set and attained, including OEE and downtime tracking.
- Optimising processes to reduce manufacturing costs and maximise GMP production throughput.
- Directly responsible for the leadership and development of associates to ensure team cross-functionality, high performance, and long-term retention.
- Developing and implementing metrics for constant improvement of Operations and compliance
- Builds and develops a committed team to manage all aspects of area of responsibility, including production, continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and cost.
- Sustains customer relationships through open communication direct interaction, responsiveness, and accountability.
- Supports the process flow in the creations of SKU’s and bills of material, ensuring effective stage-gating of New Product Introductions and timing revisions to existing bills from change programs.
- Owns the full Value Steam from end to end, ensuring efficient use of resources and effective process flows to satisfy all stakeholder needs.
- Leads continuous improvement initiatives and projects with cross-functional teams to achieve Factory goals.
- Prepare and develop strategic priorities that support the overall business strategy with the ability to create and track relevant KPIs.
- Effective communication on all production related information to all stakeholders across the organisation including executive level.
- Assist with budget preparations and tracking of department spending and variances.
- Ensuring that the health, safety, and environmental impact policies of the sites are being successfully implemented.
Essential Criteria & Skills
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience preferred in either pharmaceutical, medical device, chemical manufacturing or other highly regulated environment.
- Experience of budgeting
- Experience of current GMPs, SOPs, Quality System Regulation, and ISO Requirements.
- Experience with Six Sigma
- Experience in Project Management
- Management and leadership experience
- Excellent track record of developing direct reports
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to influence, build consensus, and manage conflict in challenging situations
- Capability for problem solving, strategic, and critical thinking
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work with and influence contract manufacturing partners while maintaining a positive working relationship
- Experience in Operational Excellence, Lean, and Continuous Improvement
