Network Operations Shift Lead.

You will play a critical role in ensuring that our Network Operations run smoothly and efficiently.   You will be responsible for supervising and leading your team of network Operations Specialists and providing guidance and support to ensure that the network is running without interruption.  The team consists of 25 engineers, based in 3 locations within the UK – Chester, London and Camberley.  This role is based in Chester. The team is part of a follow the sun model so this involves interaction with our global colleagues in the AMRS and APAC regions.

Responsibilities:

• You will interact with clients at every level, from end-users to executives, to ensure clear and effective communication.
• You will handle client escalations with professionalism and a keen understanding of IT Service Management processes
• You will make quick decisions while maintaining a comfortable level of communication with management.
• Lead a team of network engineers with responsibility for the global data and security network operations
• Managing incident calls, stakeholder expectations, and acting as bridge commander during major incidents.
• Be the main point of contact for Global Network Operations and ensuring incidents are resolved in a timely manner.
• You will coordinate with cross-functional teams and external providers to effectively identify and resolve network incidents.

What we are looking for:

• You have experience managing network operations or related environment
• Experienced working for a large enterprise or financial
• You have proven experience with Cisco routers and switches and Cisco/Aruba wireless infrastructure
• You are knowledgeable of FortiGate/Checkpoint Firewalls; F5/AVI load balancers and McAfee proxy infrastructure
• You have in-depth knowledge of ITIL including Incident, Problem and Change Management
• You have had exposure to risk management, audit and information security.
• Excellent logical problem-solving, verbal communication, interpersonal skills
• You have the ability to initiate action, collaborate with others, make tough decisions and accept challenging assignments.
• CCNA is preferred or other applicable technical certifications
• You have great communication skills (oral and written) analytical mindset and attention to detail

Skills that would help:

• Experience in monitoring and troubleshooting using tools such as Splunk, SevOne, ThousandEyes, and other fault management tools,
