We have an opportunity for an Advanced Project Engineer to join our SATCOM team in Tewkesbury. You will be contributing to and leading cutting edge satellite communications technologies from real time embedded software through to application software and system/electronic hardware on a variety of platforms taking concepts from ideation to production.These technologies are key to keeping aircraft in the air and enabling the next generation of ubiquitous global connectivity.This position offers opportunities to grow in technical knowledge and responsibility supported by the company.

Responsibilities

• Deliver projects on time, on cost and on quality.

• Initiate, coordinate, maintain, analyse, and drive cost, schedule & scope.

• Coordinate the program team’s risk, change, and resource management processes.

• Ensure accuracy of program cost, schedule, and scope baseline.

• Support the program manager with funding exercises, budget forecasting, etc.

• Develop, update, and maintain work breakdown structure (WBS), WBS dictionary, and cost account structure.

• Coordinate and contribute to bid and proposal activities.

• Performing monthly variance analysis to cost and schedule baseline.Make initial recommendations to the Program Manager and the team as it pertains to root cause / corrective action, as well as short term impacts to financial forecast and milestone fidelity.

• Lead/contribute to sprint planning.

• At the program team level prepare metrics for:

o SPI/CPI/EV

o Program Milestones o Program Resources – support SATCOM engineering resources management.

o Forecast vs. Approved Budget vs. AOP

o Program Scorecard

o Initiate, coordinate, and maintain Estimates at Completion (EACs)

You MustHave

• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline, or equivalent

• Working experience in project engineering leading electronic/software projects.

We value

• Previous experience hands on working in satellite and/or cellular communication products and certification, particularly Inmarsat and Iridium

• Working knowledge of overall engineering disciplines - hardware, software, systems development, formal systems engineering methodologies

• Working knowledge/Experience in managing FAA/TCCA TSOs, STC’s and aircraft certifications.

• Working knowledge/Familiarity with standards, DO-178, DO-254, DO-160.

• Experience in Project Management – managing cost, schedule, resource, risk management.

• Experience in executive communication, ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience.

• Working in an agile/scrum environment

• Excellent leadership and management skills.

• Excellent customer & supplier management skills.

• Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events.
