Job description
What you will do in your working day
- To use fundamentals of chemical engineering principles to implement and develop new processes and to support product development.
- With the guidance from the project technical leads and or line manager, to be proactive in identifying and supporting engineering solutions to challenging problems and propose innovative ideas.
- To prepare for and perform laboratory tasks using the appropriate scientific techniques, procedures and methods of relevance to the activities of the laboratory.
- To complete the training of using common analytical instrument, work autonomously to analyse, interpret and evaluate engineering data and present the results of laboratory work and problem solving clearly and concisely in written and oral form.
- To be responsible for providing clearly documented records of technical data, methodologies, calculations and software use in an agreed format.
The training you will be getting - By the end of the apprenticeship, you will be qualified with a BEng in Chemical Engineering, as well as being equipped with industry experience.
- Functional Skills in Maths and English available if required.
- You will study at Teesside University and be based at Sedgefield during your working week.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship The expectation is to move into a Chemical Process Engineer position.
