Job description
We are looking for passionate and motivated website design volunteers to help bring our campaigns alive! you will Support with changes to our website that is easy to amend/change currently using Wordpress.
What will you be doing?Voice Out Women (VOW) is a small charitable London-based organization whose mission is to support women in the fulfilment of their full potential in all walks of life through education, training, professional opportunities, community engagement and leadership.
VOW seeks an experienced web development expert who shares the organization’s values and mission. Ideally, he/she will have experience working for other charitable organizations.
S/he will be responsible for expanding and managing VOW’s website. She/he will mostly work remotely, and should be available for online meetings with the executive committee and other VOW volunteers. Ideally s/he will be London-based for occasional live meetings with VOW’s executive committee and other volunteers.
What are we looking for?Working at the direction of the Social Media Strategist and CEO and with the support of our Volunteer Coordinators, website design volunteers will create and edit content for our website .You won’t be starting from scratch! We already have a plan for what we need and welcome a keen collaborator for the role. We are looking for an experienced web designer who can get our website up to speed while offering ad-hoc assistance ongoing.
This role will require you to allocate around 3-5 hours per week depending on your expertise. You will share the workload with other volunteers to ensure you keep your work-life in balance.
Create the design and layout of our website, web pages, and pop-ups
Test and improve design of website
Establish design guidelines, standards, and best practices
SEO
Coordinate, monitor and maintain all website content to ensure it is accurate, up to date, written in plain English and meets usability and accessibility standards.
