Job description

What you will do in your working day

• Collaborating with senior carpenters on projects
• Handling tools and equipment
• Analysing blueprints
• Observing senior carpenters while they work
• Using software to create blueprints
• Reviewing drawings and choosing timbers and other materials for layouts
• Ordering timber materials
• Cutting and assembling materials together

The training you will be getting

• Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship, you will have gained a Level 2 qualification in Carpentry and Joinery.
• Training will take place in a numebr of Kendrick Homes Sites throughout the Worcestershire and Midlands area.
• You will also be expected to attend Heart of Worcestershire College, at the Redditch campus, one day a week.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

With experience, you could become a site supervisor or construction project manager.

You could also move into:

• Construction estimating
• Contracts management
• A specialist area like stage sets or heritage restoration
• Starting your own business
• Training apprentices
• Teaching at a further education college
