About Our Client
This permanent Pre-Sales Engineering Consultant is a new exciting role to help customers, dealers, and the team with technical advice before commercial vehicles are bought to ensure they comply with regulations around technical specs and modifications for large commercial UK Customers. Based out of Milton Keynes on a hybrid and very flexible working basis within a supportive product team
Job Description
Pre-Sales Engineering Consultant duties and responsibilities;
- Assist the sales channels and manage the technical and legal aspects of automotive products. This includes helping customers, bodybuilders, suppliers, and dealers
- Support Vehicle Ordering to ensure they provide Uk customers with compliant and reliable commercial vehicles
- Review and influence any changes to Commercial Vehicle products to make sure they meet UK laws and technical requirements. We also talk to factories to make sure our UK customer's needs are met.
- Stay in touch with the UK bodybuilding industry and equipment suppliers, and build good relationships with them.
- Evaluate requests from bodybuilders and dealers for "QPL" (Quality Parts List), and make sure databases are up-to-date
- Help with paperwork like Letters of Non-Objection and Statements of Compliance to make sure any vehicle modifications follow company recommendations.
- Europe. Work with the Homologation Quality Specialists to figure out how they affect trucks and recommend what to do.
- Help Key Account Managers sell products to big customers in the UK by providing technical support and making presentations when needed.
The Successful Applicant
Experience and characteristics of the Pre-Sales Engineering Consultant will be;
- Theoretical and practical experience in the design, construction and application of Commercial Vehicles/ load bearing structures, with particular reference to modifications, body mounting, current and future legislation
- A workshop-based background would be a distinct advantage
- Strong customer service approach with the capability to discuss technical specs and legislation
- Highly effective team player
