Our Colchester Campus are recruiting for a Home Tutor (with specialist experience in ARFID / PDA and Autism) to join the team on a full time, permanent basis. The successful candidate must have a driving licence and mode of transport and willing to travel between the Campus and the students home address (Chelmsford).
Specific duties:
- Work predominantly 1:1 with a student in their home providing tuition
- Re-engage student with education with a view to transition back to school
- In addition to home tutoring, working at campus to work alongside our team of professionals in Key Stages 2-5, providing targets support for students
- Build positive working relationships and links with parents
- Plan, implement and deliver a bespoke programme of study for a student currently educated off site
Campus duties:
- Work in collaboration with subject teachers at Campus and National level
- Work with the LSCO / RSENDCo and other teachers to develop and implement programmes and outcomes recorded on provision map
- Monitor pupil's progress and assessing, recording and reporting on pupil's achievement, progress and development will be integral to this role
- To provide learning support within the context of our Self-Directed Learning Philosophy
- Assess, manage and deliver learning support using knowledge and specialist skills
- To work with pupils, understanding how to motivate and encourage them to achieve and develop through the development of their attributes, skills and knowledge
- Monitor and evaluate pupil responses to learning activities through a range of assessment and monitoring strategies
- Provide objective and accurate feedback and reports as required on pupil achievement, progress and other matters, ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence
- To perform such other duties as may be requested from time to time, commensurate with the role
You will:
- Have experience working with children within Key Stage 3 and 4
- Have full working knowledge of relevant current policies, codes of practice and legislation
- Experience of working with children of relevant age in a learning environment
- Working knowledge and experience of implementing national curriculum and other relevant learning programmes and strategies
- Understanding of statutory frameworks relating to teaching and SEND procedures
- Have Grade C / 5 or above in GCSE English and Maths
- Be a positive role model of professional practice and conduct of others
- Uphold and promulgate the OneSchool Global ethos within all areas of responsibility
