Senior Service Transition Analyst (ITIL)
Utilities
Hybrid: 1 day per week in Warwick
6 months
£550 - £650 per day

In short: This is a Separation and Transformation within the business. Senior Service Transition Analyst required to join a large utilities company in an end-to-end transition of CNI services. We'll be swapping out old kit from our physical IT, remote sites and data centres using design resource from a third party provider. You role will be to work with the third party ensuring we can plan and evidence a successful transition.

In full:

Working with a large Network Services provider the Service Transition Lead will ensures that we successfully transition the new services over to live support, adhering to compliance and security standards following an ITIL based governance methodology.


In addition, the client is currently separating from the main group as a result of a divestment strategy. There is a requirement for Security capabilities to be separated out and set up for the newly formed organisation.

This role will ideally enable Service Transition to take place across both Networks, Site Telemetry and Security, operating across 2 streams of work. The ability to co-ordinate activities across both streams will be essential.




Key Qualifications:


ITIL Certified: Must possess a deep understanding of ITIL frameworks and methodologies and their practical application in a business context.


Experience in Transitioning Network Capabilities: Proven track record of successfully transitioning network services, infrastructure, or capabilities from development to live operational environments.


Experience in Transitioning Security services to live operational environments.


Utilities or Critical National Infrastructure Experience: Previous experience in the utilities sector is highly desirable, providing an understanding of the unique challenges and regulatory requirements of this industry.


Core Responsibilities:


Deliver the transition of network capabilities into live service, ensuring minimal disruption to existing services and alignment with ITIL best practices.


Deliver the transition of security capabilities into live services, ensuring minimal disruption to existing services and alignment with ITIL best practices.


Collaborate with project management, network engineering, and service management teams to plan and execute transitions.


Follow an ITIL based governance methodology to ensure that governance gates are adhered to and achieved successfully.


Develop and maintain transition plans, including risk management and contingency planning.


Ensure that all service transition projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget, adhering to high-quality standards.


Conduct post-implementation reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the service transition domain.


Manage documentation and knowledge sharing related to service transitions, ensuring compliance with organisational and regulatory standards. This includes the hands-on completion of Service Transition products e.g. the Service Operating Model with input from the Programme team and 3rd party organisations as necessary.



Desired Skills and Competencies:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.


Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to challenge professionally to achieve the best outcomes.


Strong experience of managing vendors in a service transition context.


Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.


Knowledge of network technologies, infrastructure, and telemetry.


Knowledge of security and OT technologies is desirable


Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements in the utilities sector.



Educational Requirements:


Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent.


ITIL Certification (Foundation level minimum, higher levels preferred).
