Key Purpose:
Lead, manage, and ensure the quality of the school’s music curriculum to align with the school's vision of inspiring creative, mindful learners.
Responsibilities:
- Articulate a vision for the Music Department in line with the school's ethos.
- Lead, manage, and evaluate the school’s music curriculum.
- Contribute to school-wide planning, resource management, and policy development.
- Maintain high expectations and standards across all aspects of school life.
- Support day-to-day school organization and management.
- Be accountable to the Teaching and Learning Coach and the Principal/CEO.
- Contribute to the school’s Performance Management program.
Role Aspects:
1. Student Development: Ensure a positive learning environment and student well-being.
2. Teaching and Learning Leadership: Strategically manage curriculum delivery and evaluation.
3. Team Management: Support professional growth and effectiveness of music department staff.
4. Resource Management: Oversee effective allocation and use of resources.
5. Promotion and Representation: Advocate for the music department within the school and community.
Qualifications:
- Experience in music education and leadership.
- Relevant teaching degree and 4+ years of experience
- Knowledge of curriculum development and assessment practices.
- Ability to foster a positive learning environment and promote student engagement.
- Collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
