LIFTING ENGINEER - NUCLEAR - HPC - SOMMERSET 12 MONTH ROLLING CONTRACT
My client are looking for a Lifting Engineer to join the team on site on one of the largest-construction projects in the world. Your role will be vital, owning all aspects of lifting/rigging on site including, but not limited to: lifting operation, documentation associated with lifting activities (lift plans, RAMS etc ), formal communications regarding lifting (RFI, NCR, CI etc )
Summary of key duties & responsibilities
- Performing technical review of lifting related contract documentation
- Formal communications for all contractual documents related to lifting (NCR's, FCR's, RFI's, CE's etc )
- Define both operational and technical risks associated to site lift plans
- Ensure compliance with statutory and client specifications
- Creation and maintenance of all lifting documentation (Lift plans, RAMS etc )
- Provide technical expertise on all things associated to lifting
- Lead a team of up to 16 riggers/slingers
- Supply and maintain all registers associated to lifting
- Hosting of both internal and external (client) audits
Experience
- Experience of working in nuclear sector
- Extensive experience of creating complex lift plans
- Leadership experience
- Strong understanding of ISO standards
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment and complex work areas
- Client facing
Skills & Attributes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to engage directly with the client in a professional manner to resolve issues in a timely manner
- Able to work individually as well as part of a team to tight deadlines and targets
- Ability to prioritise and manage numerous interfaces
- Technical problem-solving skills
- Relevant qualifications associated to lifting
