About the Role

Walton Medical Centre has an exciting opportunity for a Paramedic Practitioner to join our practice.  This role can be offered on a full-time or part-time basis, with flexibility on days and hours.

Walton Medical Practice is situated in the traditional seaside resort of Walton on the Naze, on the Essex Coast. They have a list size of just over 8300 patients. As well as 2 GP Partners and a salaried GP, the practice team includes a clinical pharmacy team of 2, a nursing team of 10 and an efficient and effective reception and administrative team of 18.

You will be required to provide a high-quality, cost effective service to the patients of the practice, diagnosing and prescribing treatments and drugs working within defined procedures and protocols as laid down by the GPs.

Clinically you will be responsible for receiving patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems and make an assessment of their healthcare needs. You will carry out assessment, diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, referral and discharge as appropriate and deliver key elements of the NSFs, providing public health, health protection and promotion programmes that improve health and reduce inequalities. You will work closely with a team of GPs and practice nurses.

About the Candidate

The post holder must be a HCPC registered paramedic with experience of working within primary care and be able to demonstrate continued professional development and professionalism. They must hold a level 7 qualification in clinical assessment.

The post holder must have experience of providing multi-skilled healthcare and clinical treatment and be able to work with patients and members of the public. They will have experience of working on clinical systems and be able to enter and use patient date efficiently, whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times.

The post holder must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to liaise and communicate with clinical and administrative staff within the practice and partnership.

About Us

The Colte Partnership is a GP super-partnership, formed in June 2017. It brought together 9 local GP surgeries across Colchester and Tendring, serving approx. 98,000 patients. With the combined workforce, skills and knowledge, we are in a unique position to assist our patients across the county.

As well as general practice, we offer extended access appointments to enable all of our patients to access medical care at evening and weekends; we work collaboratively with external agencies to provide in home services and social prescribing; we are working to be at the forefront of clinical research; and have many more exciting ventures on the horizon.

We also work as three collaborative primary care networks (PCNs) which span across Colchester and Tendring:

There is a wide socio-economic and demographic served within this area which will provide an interesting and varied case mix. You will be joining an enthusiastic team of clinicians and administrators. You will be well supported with on-going professional development (training support, CPD and peer support). The role will contribute to the improving quality of care of our patients across the network of practices.
