Grafton Banks Finance Executive Search in Sussex is recruiting a Group Financial Controller for a hugely successful and expanding global business in West Sussex on an exclusive basis. Suitable candidates need to be fully qualified, ideally ACA, possess up to date IFRS reporting knowledge, team management, group level consolidations and international accounting experience to apply. Previous exposure to working within a product related sector would be an advantage although not essential.

The Group Financial Controller will lead and develop the Group Finance function to ensure that the needs of the business are met and comply with statutory accounting requirements. The role is responsible for ensuring that the Finance strategy is implemented in accordance with the business plan as well as being responsible for the day-to-day control of the Group Finance function including managing budgetary activities in own cost centre and financial systems and processes.

Reporting to the CFO, key areas of responsibility include:

 

Take overall responsibility for the team carrying out the consolidation and production of monthly management accounts for the Group Preparation of Group financial statements for the half and full year under IFRS reporting standards Risk management reporting Analysis and reporting of Group results variances Embedding and maintaining effective internal controls Oversight of production of subsidiary accounts for the UK entities Key financial systems of the Group Managing Group Finance policies Manage the year end close process for the Group and coordinate external audit activities Line management of the Group Finance function ensuring compliance with all Company policies and procedures Provide support and guidance to controllers across the Group Manage the relationship with external and internal auditors Oversight of all Group accounting policies and procedures Liaise with other departments to solve issues and ensure smooth processing of transactions Support the CFO with the financial results and analysis as well as IR support Drive forward the function in creating efficiencies, improving performance and development of relationships with other functions
