Toolmaker – Job Summary:
We’re supporting our client, a leading Injection Moulding manufacturer based in West Drayton, who are looking for a Toolmaker to join their growing team. The successful Toolmaker will have experience of Injection Moulding, tool Manufacture and Toolroom duties.
Salary: £40,000

Responsibilities for Toolmaker:
- Ability to plan your work effectively and efficiently to meet the needs of your section and meet the completion dates indicated by the Works Order List.
- To manufacture all work as specified by the Tool Order Request using current issue design drawings.
- To be capable of working to BS 308 drawing standards and its associated BS standards.
- You are to inspect all your work that you are directly responsible for, before passing your work to the next stage of tool manufacture or for tool commissioning.
- Any out of tolerance dimensions are to be recorded on the appropriate drawing and that drawing to accompany the Tool Order Request during its process of manufacture.
- To comply with all current work instructions operable within your area of activity.
- To comply fully with all current Health and Safety regulations in operation within the Company whilst carrying out your toolroom duties.
- Operate all machines and processes in accordance with accepted and documented procedures.
- Ability to perform hand skill activities using a wide range of tools and equipment and able to maintain those tools in an operational condition.
- Be aware of current moulding and manufacturing processes.
- Keep yourself updated with the technology within your area or activity.
- Hold a current Abrasive Wheels Regulations certificate.
- To carry out those tasks required by your line manager that are within your capability to meet the needs of the Company.
- Report to your line manager immediately on finding any machine or equipment malfunction.
- To produce work to the standard required by the Company as indicated by all design drawings and work instructions.
- Operate within the quality ethos of the Company, meeting fully the Company’s quality registration and requirements.
- Ability to produce work to close tolerances and high quality surface finished within reasonable time limits.
- Observe safe working practices and ensure that machines and equipment that you are or have been using are kept clean and tidy and left in a safe condition.
- Comply with all current work instructions within the organisation.
- Comply fully with all current health & safety regulations in operation within the company whilst carrying out your duties.
- Carry out any reasonable task which falls within your capabilities
