Job Description
Reporting to the CFO, your key responsibilities as Head of Planning will include:
- Ownership, design and implement financial plan which meets the needs of organisation.
- Own the budgeting and forecasting work process, providing analysis and therefore guidance to senior stakeholders.
- Assist CFO with the development of targets; track and forecast targets achievement through the year.
- Own the continuous improvement of the financial planning process.
- Delivery of monthly financial information & KPIs including analysis and insights for leadership reports..
- Create and manage models that drive insight into performance of Schools, courses and functions, that enable data driven decision making
- Implementation and management of new systems and tools supporting efficient and timely planning and reporting.
- Lead and develop a best-in-class team.
- Deputise for the CFO when required.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Head of Planning should have:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, ICAEW)
- Demonstrable skills in financial planning and analysis, to include report writing, presentation and business partnering are essential
- Working at pace, managing multiple priorities and strong communication skills are all required.
- Previous experience working with key stakeholders and delivering change and process improvement
- Curious and able to bring insight and thought leadership to both the Finance team and wider University
- Strong interpersonal skills
