Solution Architect
Salary: Circa £60,000 per annum negotiable depending on experience
Contract: Permanent
Location: Hybrid - flexibility to work from home and at any of our main hubs (London, Bristol, Manchester and Milton Park - Oxfordshire)

About the role:
This is an exciting time to join Jisc. We are on a journey of transformation to re-define our technical and IT strategy with the primary focus of this transformation on achieving Jisc’s ‘digital vision’. This will enable us to provide an amazing online experience for our members, customers, students, and other stakeholders, introduce end-to-end automation and high levels of efficiency in delivering Jisc’s products and services and to provide the systems and tools for Jisc staff to deliver these things.
You will play a key part in designing and supporting change delivery across all our transformation workstreams. Working with the newly formed Enterprise Architecture Design Authority (EADA) you will develop and maintain architectural working practices and coordinate design governance across the organisation’s Technical Design Authorities. You will also work in collaboration with project delivery teams designing technology solutions in line with the organisational strategy.
You will need to have excellent architectural skills, a strong background in solution architecture (Salesforce, MuleSoft, AWS, and Dynamics 365) and the skills to empathise with customers and an affinity to create solutions designed to deliver a great customer experience.

Other responsibilities will include:
• Contribute to the definition and development of architectural artefacts including target architectures, design patterns, principles, standards, models, guidelines, and roadmaps.
• Participate in and coordinate Jisc’s Technical Design Authorities (TDAs) and governance structures across the organisation to ensure joined-up decision-making and solution design takes place in support of change delivery.
• Collaborate with data architects and other design roles to design individual solutions to meet project and business needs.
• Liaise with programme stakeholders to understand business needs and individual programme requirements and provide decision support across the transformation programme delivery workstreams as a trusted advisor.
• Stay current with new technologies, industry trends, and architectural developments to provide technology expertise across the organisation.
Key Skills and Experience:
• Substantial experience working as part of an architectural or equivalent design team.
• Experience working with Salesforce, MuleSoft, AWS, and Dynamics 365.
• Experience designing solutions across all three major cloud providers.
• An understanding of architectural practice and ways of working to support technical change delivery.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to listen to and interpret requirements with technical and non-technical audiences.
• An ability to communicate solutions and rationale to a wide range of stakeholders.
