Job description
Stoke College is looking to appoint a SENDCo to provide an excellent education provision across the whole school to nurture and enable all SEND students to reach their full potential.
Key responsibilities (see applicant pack for full requirements)
- Conduct and manage EHCP Annual Reviews.
- Liaise with and be the key point of contact for external professionals e.g., LEAs, Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and EWMHS etc.
- Prepare reports for statutory assessments including EAAA, EHCNA, SNAP IV, NDD referrals etc.
- Complete documentation in relation to JCQ Regulations for Access Arrangements working with the Exams Officer to make Online Applications.
- Complete and collate all necessary paperwork to support SEND Tribunals.
- Attend SEND Tribunals where school representation is required.
- Provide specialist teaching for SEND pupils yr7-yr13 inclusive
- Provide Induction and ongoing training of teaching staff on SEND related areas
- Provide professional guidance on teaching all pupils with SEN or a disability and work closely with the teaching staff to provide support plans for students that can be used inside and outside the classroom.
- Liaise with Pastoral and Safeguarding Teams where required e.g., recommendations within an EHCP, shared support of named students etc.
- Work closely with the Head of LDC and Admissions to screen and identify support requirements for prospective students.
- Assist with writing LDC Departmental Handbook and Departmental Development Plan
- Promote a positive culture within the College that supports the schools SEND policy and successful integration of SEND support.
