Job Title Production Engineer
Job Title of Line Manager Production Engineering Manager
Main Purpose of Job
A world leader in intelligent electric heating and renewable energy solutions, as well as holding significant global market positio ns in domestic appliances, cooling and ventilation.
Our Engineering team are looking for a production engineer to support our production departments.
Accountabilities (Include but are not limited to):
- Maintain the current production processes to safety, quality and cost targets;
- Respond to any technical issues of metal fabricated components, painted panels and assembled products identifying the root cause and co-ordinating actions.
- Co-ordinate the introduction of new products /p rocesses or product/process changes into the manufacturing facility with no issues.
- Identify and lead process improvement projects.
- Co-ordinate the production of new metal forming tooling, modifications and repairs.
Essential behaviours, skills & experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or comparable industrial experience working as a Production/Process Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or Automation Engineer.
- Minimum of 2 years engineering wo rk experience in an industrial environment.
- Self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, ideally with a working knowledge of CAD.
- Ability to function in a team environment, while effectively communicating across various levels of the organization.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- A working knowledge of Lean/6 Sigma tools.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, including engineering/technical support of production processes e.g. laser cutting, press brake, power press tooling etc.
- Knowledge of product assembly lines, including line bal ancing , component presentation etc..
- Creating and maintaining work method documentation e.g. SOP’s, Work studies, Risk Assessments etc.
- Ensure all procedures and processes comply with H&S regulations
- Working knowledge of SAP including routings, work centres and production versions.
- Working knowledge to robotics and PLC programming.
Complexity and Creativity
- Design, sourcing, purchasing, commissioning and on-going support of production processes, tooling, fixtures and equipment to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Develop/introduce new products, processes and equipment into a production environment to ensure that safety, quality, cost & time standards are achieved.
