Role Purpose

To drive air knowledge and sales throughout Elegant Resorts and If Only, ensuring we provide competitive and best in class product across the sales team. You will be responsible for the development of our airline relationships, supporting the Head of Air Product by negotiating the best commercial agreements, tactical offers, marketing funds and incentives on behalf of the two businesses.

Accountabilities

• Work closely with both Elegant Resorts and If Only to capture a full understanding of each brand. Identify the right product or product mix to meet their required growth needs.
• Regular meetings with senior airline representatives to ensure targets are being achieved and maintain on-going, new/secured commercial deals.
• Attend regular meetings with both Product and Marketing to secure JMA funding. Lead the commercial airline input by securing tactical deals to support marketing activity.
• Monitor the travel market, identify competitor activity and its potential impact on departmental strategy.
• Support Sales, Ticketing & Finance by taking full ownership of escalated queries, ADM disputes & legal investigations.
• Contribute and where appropriate attend SMT and trading meeting.
• A strong presence across both brands plus ownership for all airline communication including the training of new product offerings, market feedback, tactical info etc.
• Manage and maximise the Travelport relationship.
• Provide clear MI on air travelled revenue predictions vs overrides and entry sales by airline on a monthly basis.
• Secure cash refunds during disruption and crisis situations.
• Negotiate FAM seats when required, plus discounted seats for our staff/agent partners – ID 90 fares, via IATA 880 forms.
• Obtain fare reductions through negotiation with airlines, including business and first-class upgrades.
• Reduce overall costs for the business across all territories utilising tactical discounts and drop nets.
• Drive sales and set internal targets to hit over-rides and support airline targets.
• Analyses sales statistics, conversions and ensure monthly meetings are held with sales to receive performance feedback.
• Liaise with all airlines to resolve contract queries & fare related issues.
• Ensure airfares are managed and distributed correctly through Travelport’s Net Fare Manager
• Effectively maximizes the use of Travelport applications such as Search Control Console, Productivity Automator, and Smart Buttons

• Comprehensive GDS knowledge of airfares, ticketing & re-issue experience within Galileo
• Strong knowledge of Airline contracts and GDS fares, ticketing rules within Galileo.
Strong knowledge of Galileo applications such as Search Control Console, Productivity
Automator, Smart Buttons and Net Fare Manager.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Previous relevant Travel industry experience
