Rewards and Benefits

About the Team

As the Active Partnership for Surrey, we believe that movement matters. It matters to our health, our schools, our communities, and our environments. Focused on tackling inactivity and inequality, we work together to help everyone in Surrey realise the benefits of a more active way of life by influencing systems, removing barriers, and creating opportunities to get people moving more. Our vision is that everyone in Surrey, but with a particular focus on those who need it most, embrace moving more, to improve health and wellbeing and to thrive as an active community.

About the Role

Like all roles at Active Surrey, you can expect this to be fun, rewarding and challenging. No two days will be the same! Your role will be to deliver six, 1:1, healthy lifestyle sessions either in schools or family homes. The key will be using behaviour change techniques to affect lifestyle changes and to unpick other issues facing families for onward signposting. Families are offered six online group sessions on topics such as The Eatwell Guide, sugar swaps, sleep, exercise, and screen time.

You will be responsible for training and overseeing Junior Health Coaches, similarly passionate about improving the lives of families who need it most. You will be experienced in working with young people and families in need and have an excellent knowledge of key health messages regarding nutrition and physical activity. As BYB is a Surrey wide programme, you will need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle. Full training will be given.
