RWE Supply & Trading is the interface between the RWE Group’s operating companies and global wholesale markets for energy and energy-related raw materials and is a leading European energy trading house”.
We as “Central Services” Team are positioned within RWEST IT with our team members located across Essen (Germany) and Swindon or London.
As part of our DevOps transformation journey we have three different SQUADS within the team. This role is focused on providing and maintaining 24*7 mission critical value chain applications and infrastructure specially focused on our RISK BI system (ROCK)with emphasis on areas of root cause analysis, problems via monitoring solutions(Dashboards).
Primary focus will be on continuous improvement of application processes through enhanced automations and monitoring. Responsibilities include maintenance of reliable systems by problem solving, meeting with users to define business needs etc. Their goal is to work closely with business and IT stakeholders in quick issue resolutions in the context of an Incident Management, Problem Management, CI/CD deployment etc.
Your responsibilities
- Provide operational support by analysing systems, researching problems and maintenance/coordination of different applications
- Continuous improvements of processes through e.g. innovative ideas, enhance automations /monitoring with platforms like Elastic (Kibana)
- Root cause analysis for fixing problems permanently by debugging the components
- Working with Openlink ENDUR & BI tools like Microstrategy and ensuring the end of day dataflow to Risk
- Gather specific requirements from business and embedded IT teams to provide solutions via incidents and service requests
- Coordination and work closely with business and IT stakeholders on in quick issue resolutions in the context of an Incident Management, Problem Management, maintenance of patching activities and configurations / User Management
- Work in a DevOps model with development teams and business stakeholders for enhanced solutions
- Provide Initial Bug Fixes, Change Requests and enhancements for different applications
- Readiness in shift rotations with 24*7 oncall and occasional travel
- To involve in migration of legacy application to Cloud based projects (AWS) / Multi-account setup etc.
Your powerful skills
- Experience in Intelligence tools (eg Power BI, Microstrategy, Tableau).
- Experience working with functionalities of Risk Reports (PnL, Positon, FX, VaR), Cubes, reporting methodologies
- Experience in at least one scripting (powershell, python) and database (ORACLE, MS SQL, Postgres or Snowflake) language
- CI / CD deployment pipeline involving Azure DevOps, Team City, Git, Jenkins etc.
- Demonstrated ability with good analytical problem solving skills and soft skills to communicate and collaborate with various teams
- Basic knowledge in customer support, requirements analysis and alignment with existing systems
- Interest in gaining IT Operations best practises and DevOps
Advantageous, but not a must
- Functional and business knowledge in ENDUR in the areas of EOD reporting
- Knowledge in building reports in MicroStrategy, enhancements of existing reports
- Basic knowledge of AWS, Cloud Native, AzureDevops etc.
