Park Street Surgery in Ripon have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated salaried GP to join our friendly practice team for up to 4-8 sessions per week.
We are a busy and well-established GP training practice based in this beautiful Yorkshire City in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
Our practice list is about 7,600 patients and we are part of the Ripon and Masham Primary care Network so benefit from the experience and learning across a network of 4 practices. Our wider clinical team also incorporates regular First Contact MSK practitioners, clinical pharmacy team and a social prescriber.
Our team comprises of 5 GP partners, a salaried GP's , 1 full time ACP, 3 experienced practice nurses and 3 HCA's as well as a wonderfully supportive reception and administration team. We all have a close working relationship and pull together well as a team. We are also an outgoing practice, a ParkRun practice and take part in local sporting events and arrange regular staff nights out.
We are an active training practice and have regular GP registrar placements as well as student nurses and other members of the wider healthcare team. We encourage all members of staff to be involved in training and support skill enhancement.
You will be required to have knowledge of a broad range of conditions, and diagnose and treat patients of all ages. You will also refer patients to specialists when more detailed investigation is needed.
Typical duties include:
patient consultations in the patients home, within the surgery and by phone
monitoring patients’ conditions and wellbeing
discussing treatment options with patients
carrying out clinical examinations
diagnosing and treating illnesses/ailments
carrying out tests to diagnose (eg urine sample testing)
prescribing medication
providing health education
liaising with other healthcare professionals (eg pharmacists, msk practitioners, health visitors) as part of multidisciplinary teams.
