Job description

Driver Hire is recruiting for a full time Yard Operative (FLT licence preferred but not essential) to join the team of a leading specialist supplier to the construction and building industry based in Godalming. You will be responsible for picking and packing orders and loading the delivery vehicles.  The product range includes pre-construction products like large tubs of glue which are not overly heavy and steel meshing, which is!  You will need to be physically fit. Other duties will include general housekeeping, yard cleanliness and tidiness

It is a lovely working environment. Our client is keen to have someone who is a team player and although previous FLT experience is preferred it is not essential.  A can do attitude is essential to work in this fast paced.  They are prepared to work with the right person.

****   Hours, Salary and Benefits of the Van Driver   ****

• Salary £23920 rising to £24960 on successful completion of 13-week temp to perm period.
• Overtime available
• Monday to Friday 0830 to 1730hrs
• 40-hour week

****   Responsibilities of the Yard Hand   ****

• Carry out daily FLT walk round checks
• Pick orders and pack them for delivery
• Load orders onto the correct delivery vehicle
• Be Health and Safety Focused in all aspects of the role
• Assist with unloading deliveries
• Use initiative and have an organised approach to your role and workload.
• Yard Housekeeping

****   Requirements of the FLT

• Verifiable references
• Possess the flexibility to “go the extra mile” and have a full commitment to providing excellent customer service
• Physically fit as lifting / handballing will be required
