This interesting, exciting and varied job opportunity has become available at SIM Demon due to continued growth. SIM Demon has a vacancy for a Technical & Customer Service Assistant. A team member who can multi-task and help us with a wide variety of customer-focused and support services. As a growing company specialising in a niche market product, the daily demands are wide and varied. Sometimes it can be busy advising and supporting customers with products they have already bought or helping with the products they are looking to buy. These duties will typically be office-based, however when a customer buys a complete simulator rig it may need to be installed on their premises, the rig will also need to be built, components added, set up for use and the software installed so that it is ready to be delivered, demonstrated and signed off to the customer.
This preparation will take place on the company premises. Installations though will require travelling and working outside office hours. SIM Demon also provides rigs that can be hired for events such as track days, team building, corporate and parties. These events will always take place in other parts of the county which is why there is a need for the commitment to travel.
These events are always interesting, and fun and bring an unpredictable element to the job role. This is an essential part of this job role which needs to be considered carefully. Reliability is critical for these events, with the added ability to think on your feet
The job will involve working closely with the owner of SIM Demon with the specific aim of responding to the unexpected demands that turn up in a niche market such as ours. These demands will have to be dealt with quickly, efficiently and willingly whatever the needs might be so adaptability is a must-have quality.
To be suitable for this role you will need to be:
Technically minded and practical to help build and install our simulator rigs
Be able to carry out a variety of tasks involving heavy equipment
Available and willing to travel when needed for training days, events, track days and installations. These events are often during weekends and evenings
A good communicator able to respond to customer questions in writing and by phone
A confident user of computers and Microsoft Office applications
In possession of a valid driving licence
Be committed to a flexible approach to fulfil the needs of this job role
Comfortable and confident when dealing with customers and the public at events and in our showroom
Desirable qualities that will help fulfil the job role:
Experience with computer hardware, gaming or simulators
Enthusiasm for working with technology, simulators, cars and planes
A gamer at heart, enjoy SIM Racing/Flying already
Knowledge of the SIM market and existing brands that are available
Knowledge of social media platforms

There will be three stages in the 6-month probationary period. After the first month, we will have an informal meeting to discuss how you are progressing with the training programme. At 3 months you will have a formal appraisal and then at 6 months a final appraisal. This process is to make sure you are happy in the job, that you want the position to become permanent and to make sure that all of the needs of the job are being met for the well-being of the company.
