Volunteer Coordinator / Team Lead who has experience coordinating and managing charity volunteers with excellent organisational, administrative and communication skills is required for a charity based in Woking, Surrey.
SALARY: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum LOCATION: Woking, Surrey JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent JOB OVERVIEW We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Volunteer Coordinator / Team Lead who has experience coordinating and managing charity volunteers with excellent organisational, administrative and communication skills. Working as the Volunteer Coordinator / Team Lead you will play a pivotal role in managing the charity’s volunteer workforce. As the Volunteer Coordinator / Team Lead you will be responsible for recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers, ensuring they are effectively matched with roles that suit their skills and interests. You will work closely with the Volunteer Manager and other team members to ensure that volunteers are fully integrated into the organisation and make a meaningful impact on the charity’s cause. DUTIES Your duties as the Volunteer Coordinator / Team Lead include: • Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies to attract a diverse range of volunteers • Coordinate the volunteer selection process, including interviewing and assessing candidates • Provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to volunteers to ensure they are equipped to fulfil their roles effectively • Match volunteers with suitable opportunities based on their skills, interests, and availability • Organise and oversee volunteer induction sessions and ongoing training workshops • Maintain accurate records of volunteer information, including contact details, availability, and roles undertaken • Foster positive relationships with volunteers, providing regular communication and recognition of their contributions • Work collaboratively with other staff members to integrate volunteers into organisational activities and projects • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the volunteer program, making recommendations for improvements where necessary CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS • Previous experience in volunteer management or coordination is desirable but not essential • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate volunteers from diverse backgrounds • Strong organisational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively • A positive and proactive approach, with a genuine passion for supporting volunteers and making a difference in the community HOW TO APPLY To be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details.
